How this works
The value is not the ticket. It is the room opened outside its hours, the reserve collection that is not on display, and the person who built it standing next to you while you look at it.
That takes weeks of notice rather than days, and it depends on institutions rather than on money. We are direct about which requests are possible and which are not, because promising a closed collection and delivering a guided tour is worse than saying no.

Can a museum be opened privately?
Many can, with enough notice, and some cannot at any price. We say which is which at the point of asking rather than after taking the booking.
How far ahead does this need arranging?
Weeks for most institutions, and longer around major exhibitions. It is the one category where a late request genuinely cannot be rescued.
